(she/her)

I am a Colombian woman who left behind numbers and public projects to embrace the magic of children’s books and media. I am drawn to stories with deep psychological layers—especially when they’re laced with humor and rhythm. I am still exploring the possible paths ahead and uncovering my talents along the way. One thing that may never change: to warm my heart, I need a dark, rich coffee ☕️; and to awaken my spirit, loud Latin music and a tile floor wide enough to dance on.

Mathilde Hartvig Munk

(she/her)

I am a Danish reader, traveller, tea drinker and lover of all things cultural with a BA in Aesthetics and Culture and a background in publishing. I am particularly interested in children and new media as well as anything bookish. Currently, you will mostly find me in the library as I work on my thesis exploring young people’s perceptions of online privacy.

Cara Scheibe

(she/her)

I am a reader and occasional writer from Germany, currently based in Denmark. I have a B.A. in World Literature and work experience as a bookseller in the US. I write and edit for this magazine, because I want to share my love for (children’s) literature and reading. When I have stared at my laptop screen enough for one day, I can be found reading a cosy contemporary romance or YA novel, wandering around Aarhus while listening to a podcast about Jane Austen, or dancing Salsa 💃🏼 with my friends.

Lisa Czuma

(they/she)

Originally from Germany, I am now hopping around the globe. I have a background in English and German Studies, and I love to discuss all things children’s media that no one else talks about – remember Help! I’m a Fish?! Currently writing a thesis about Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper. I am also involved in fandom culture and am not afraid to compliment your shoelaces in public.

I am one of the Magazine’s editors and designers. I am fluent in English, Malayalam, Hindi, and Tamil. I am based in India, travelling between Mumbai and Kochi. I hold a BA in English Honours and am working on my Master’s research on how anime like Dr. Stone can inspire children’s interest in science. An avid reader of fiction, I also enjoy K-dramas, anime, and multilingual films while immersing myself in art and craft projects.

Media & Design

Vivian Lee

(she/her)

A proud Taiwanese filmmaker & creator with a background in film production & film studies, specializing in scriptwriting. Besides producing programs, I also enjoy watching films, documentaries, and anime. You might come across my reviews someday, but for now, I am just a procrastinating baby. 👶🏻 Even though I procrastinate, I still designed the website. Technically speaking… “I AM EVERYWHERE.”

Suzanne La Rocca

(she/her)

Just like the rest of the Sliding team, I am an enthusiastic reader and researcher. My latest obsession revolves around questions of accessibility when it comes to cultural spaces and practices, which is why I am interested in the fields of publishing and reading promotion. Apart from that, I love hiking, wearing too many colours at once and drinking over-priced matcha lattes 🍵.

Laura Arrázola-Hernández

(she/her)

Colombian wanderer and Spanglish babbler. Background in Literature and Linguistics, and experience in primary level education. Lover of food, crafts, and everything nice. I discovered the joy of media at a suspiciously young age but only found the sweetness of games in adulthood. Currently my interests revolve around coziness, cuteness, and care through my MA project on cozy video games, but I’d rather not get too serious about it. 😊

I am a Chilean Literature and Linguistics teacher based in Glasgow, Scotland, braving the cold one teacup at a time. I am currently working on the representation of mental illness/disability in YA graphic literature from a Medical Humanities perspective (yes, books can be therapeutic!). I enjoy knitting/crocheting 🧶, watching an unhealthy amount of documentaries and travelling.

(she/they)

Chilean. Spanish and English speaker, currently based in Scotland. Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, specialised in Literature and Visual Arts. I am currently focused on diverse representations of girlhood, and obsessed about graphic novels for young people. Recently learned how to crochet, so I am gathering an endless amount of projects I’d like to do while slowly trying to finish the ones I have already started.

Daniela Barton Nicholls

(she/her)

I am a Chilean-British Early Childhood Educator based in Aarhus, Denmark, currently writing my master’s thesis on depictions of intergenerational relationships and foodways in children’s literature – especially in picturebooks! If I am not working at the library, you can find me running to a local coffee shop ☕️, junk journalling or planning my next trip!

Maria Anto

(she/her)

I am a writer from the US desperately trying to stay out of the US. The editors have rejected all of my ideas for tabloid style gossip columns, so you will find me writing on all things puppetry, poetry, and probably some children’s history. My hot take is that Roald Dahl’s books are still pretty great.

(she/her)

I am a Dutch (from The Netherlands, not Germany) children’s film and literature enthusiast based in Denmark. Currently, I am working on my master’s thesis about menstrual disorders in young adult novels. In my limited spare time, I like to craft, dance and pet cats.
